Hold on to your cowboy hats, Clockblockers!
Timeless‘ Goran Visnjic is traveling back in time… again!
Not looking to have him wander too far from his network home, NBC has cast the versatile Croatian actor in a recurring role on This Is Us. Visnjic is set to play Beth’s (Susan Kelechi Watson) teacher Vincent, making his debut – along with fellow new cast member Phylicia Rashad – in an upcoming episode that sheds light on Beth’s past.
In an interview with our good friends at Entertainment Weekly, Watson teased viewers on what they can expect from the episode:
“We’re going to get the full story, and it’s about where she goes from here. Now that we know what’s been bothering her, what’s been in on her mind, and where she finally wants to go, now what is she going to do?”
We’ve been tense ever since Beth and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) fought in the midseason finale – and then flash-forward teasers made us even more nervous when it seems like Randall and Beth end up apart. She’s in a dance studio, while Randall meets up with adult Tess (Iantha Richardson) to go visit a mystery woman – someone she does not want to see.
I’m very eager to learn about Beth’s backstory. Was Beth romantically involved with Vincent? Does Randall know about him? What if Vincent shows up in the present when Randall and Beth’s relationship is on the rocks? Will he trade his gun for dancing shoes?
My mind is spinning with scenarios and I’m already swooning! *Squee*
One thing is for sure: Timeless fans will be thrilled to see Visnjic in action after sobbing over Garcia Flynn’s heart-breaking redemption arc in Timeless’ “The Miracle of Christmas“.
NBC’s This Is Us Season 3 returns on Tuesday, January 15 at 9 p.m. EST.
